Accountancy

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) is a five-year course that will prepare the students to be accounting professionals imbued with ethical and moral values, a global perspective, and corporate social responsibility.

It aims to develop the following competencies: Technical and technological competence, excellent Oral and written communication skills, Personal and teamwork skills, and inner Strength (TOPS) in the practice of values such as honesty, integrity, and transparency.

Graduates of BS in Accountancy will be equipped to work for the global market economies with a broad outlook to understand the intricacies of business. Their competitive advantage will be their exposure as they work with CEOs and accounting experts in different industries while studying. The program will also take advantage of UA&P’s strength in research to enhance the students’ skills in quantitative and decision analysis as they prepare to become auditors, consultants, managers, or partners in corporations or accounting firms.

Our Curriculum

The BSA Program curriculum puts emphasis on an intensive and professional accounting study that will permit students to gain the professional knowledge required for professional competence. Such professional accounting education consists of the following:

  1. Accounting, finance, and related knowledge
  2. Organizational and business knowledge
  3. Information technology knowledge and competencies

The professional knowledge component complements the non-professional knowledge, and the intellectual, personal, interpersonal, communication, and organizational and management skills developed in General Education.

Admission and Retention Requirements

The 5-Year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy admits high school graduates with an average of 85 or above in their mathematics subjects. All applicants should pass the UA&P Entrance Exam and complete all documents needed for admission.

All accepted students will be required to maintain a weighted average of 1.75 or better in all accounting subjects in the first and second year of the program and a general weighted average of 2.0 or better in the third, fourth and fifth year of the program.
