The Information Technology Program of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) goes beyond the traditional confines of computer science by exposing students to an environment oriented to both business and technology. Students develop not only the technical skills, but also the business management skills and soft skills as well as the moral and ethical grounding students need to become the complete IT professional for the Philippines, Asia, and the rest of the world.
Our IT Program is built upon the liberal arts program of the University but has strengthened mathematics and science components in order to provide students with solid general education training. The IT specialization courses focus on business systems development and are meant to develop students in the following competencies: software, hardware and networking, and business.
The Institute of Information Technology Studies has a faculty composed of a balanced mix of technically skilled full-time faculty and seasoned IT professionals from the industry, all with graduate degrees from related fields.
Our graduates careers as systems analysts, software engineers, solutions architects, and project managers. Some of them have also ended up as database, systems, and network administrators. For the more business-inclined students, there are also careers in technical sales, marketing management and business development. The majority of our graduates work for companies in the software, business-process outsourcing, manufacturing, and telecommunication industries, while a number of them have set up their own high-technology outfits.
The IT program ensures the practicability of the skills students develop through the support of our corporate partners who help us out in crafting and delivering specialized industry-relevant elective courses and also serve as host companies for corporate internship.
