Master in Information Technology

The complete IT professional.

The Master in Information Technology (MIT) program of UA&P aims to produce the complete IT professional—equally capable as a software engineer, systems administrator, business analyst, and researcher. The master’s degree gives the graduate an edge in the IT industry as it trains graduate students not just to be administrators, but to be managers, senior engineers, strategic planners, chief information officers, entrepreneurs, and educators. It does this by providing IT training that focuses on the development of intellectual activities and not just the acquisition of skills.

The program emphasizes the acquisition of concepts and technologies preparing and enabling the graduate student for the industrial practice of systems integration, systems administration, systems planning, systems implementation, and other activities that maintain the integrity and proper functionality of a system and its components. It also involves projects relevant to the industry including business, education, government.

Curriculum

The MIT program aims to produce graduates who excel not only in terms of knowledge and know-how but also in terms of sophistication, adaptability, and professionalism. It prepares the students to meet the demands of the fast-paced IT industry through a work-and-study approach combining strong theoretical foundations with practical training and liberal education. MIT graduates are also developed to have a critical mind in order to facilitate research to further develop the industry.

Faculty

The MIT program is deeply enmeshed in the industry as its faculty are key members and leaders in recognized IT organizations and corporations. Graduate students will be trained by CEOs, managing directors, senior executives, technology entrepreneurs, and seasoned experts in various specializations. Full-time faculty members have obtained doctorate and master’s degrees from local and foreign universities. Faculty members are also active in research and industry consulting to ensure that the work-and-study approach is seamlessly being followed.

For the more business-inclined graduate students, there are also careers in technical sales, marketing management, and business development.
