- Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Management
The Entrepreneurial Management (EM) Program of UA&P is the only Bachelor of Science program that effectively nurtures entrepreneurial potential as early as the adolescent years. It is the country’s pioneer in establishing a degree program for young entrepreneurs.
The EM Program is an intense, holistic, and integrated formation program uniquely designed to breed young entrepreneurs and develop them in to mentally sharp, socially adept, emotionally mature, physically fit, and morally grounded individuals. UA&P provides a comprehensive Liberal Education, developing students not to be mere technicians but leaders, innovators, and thinkers who can articulate their ideas well and aspire to envision a better economy and society.
Under the EM Program, students are challenged to start their businesses as early as the college level. Seasoned experts provide intense personalized business coaching and are guided through real business applications.
EM students undergo an interdisciplinary curriculum grouped into five learning clusters:
The following are the program’s core subjects:
The General Education Cluster
- Natural Sciences
- Political Science
- Communication Arts
Personal Formation Cluster
- Personal Development Series
Business Foundation Cluster
- Accounting and Finance
- International Business
- Business Law and Taxation
Management Foundation Cluster
- Human Resource Management
- Operations Management
- General Management
- Management Information Systems
- Corporate Philosophy
- New Business Ventures
The New Business Venture (NBV) Series is the true measure of the program’s success in forming students into entrepreneurs, as they are challenged to integrate all their knowledge, skills, and talents and use these in establishing a successful business. The term “successful” is not used loosely. Every EM student knows that without a viable business at the end of the series, he or she will not be allowed to graduate from the program.
Unlike other college curricula, the EM curriculum demands a three-fold blend of classroom instruction, mentoring intervention, and experiential (field) learning. Faculty members not only come from prestigious local and international institutions but are also required to be flexible and well-grounded on various teaching and learning technologies.
Faculty members are recognized experts in their respective industries, ensuring that the teaching pedagogy is a fine blend of theory and practice. In pursuit of understanding and channeling the energies of the EMP students’ creative entrepreneurial mind, EM faculty development is given a premium.
All faculty members are constantly exposed to the latest research and development in the fields of management, entrepreneurship, education, and psychology.
Many of our graduates are among the country’s youngest and most distinguished entrepreneurs. True to the program’s mission of forming holistic and innovative start-up business owners, EM graduates are spread across the country’s business and entrepreneurial landscape.
Most of them are at the helm of diverse and growing ventures in businesses such as food manufacturing and retail, garments, printing, agriculture, aquaculture, construction, restaurant, events management, creative industries, and export. Others have taken over and expanded existing family businesses.
EM alumni continue to be moving forces behind the country’s economic development, a testament to the program’s uniqueness and achievements.
