UA&P to reveal new mascot, web portal

He’s neither a pokemon nor an animagus in Potter lore, but UA&P’s dragon mascot, Uappy, will soon assume a different (and more Asian) look.

UA&P will reveal the winning entry of “REHATCHED” (the Uappy redesign contest launched in late November) on February 4, noontime, at the Study Hall A.

The change in Uappy’s look points to UA&P’s mission of contributing to the “integral human development of the peoples of the Asia-Pacific region.” With a more youthful and Oriental appearance, Uappy will embody the University’s identity and ideals.

UA&P’s new Web portal — composed of the University’s new website <www.uap.asia> and online services package <www.webcampus.uap.asia> — will also be launched during the event.

The new Web portal features functionalities such as reliable email service, online document storage and collaboration, website construction, calendars, and project management applications. This new information and communications platform uses Google technologies.

Student dance group I-SA and a squad of “lion dancers” will also perform during the event.
