New student leaders under the UA&P College of Arts and Sciences Student Executive Board (CAS-SEB) were sworn in during a ceremony last March 4 as the culminating event of the recent campus elections.

Incoming third year IMC student Manfred Salandanan, who led this year’s lineup of long-running political party Anima, was voted the new president of the largest student body in the University.

With him were several other candidates from the same party: vice presidents Anthony Lumicao (incoming III IEP) and Iris Maligat (incoming III IPE), finance officer Sophia Gianan (incoming III IMC) and sports and extra-curricular officer JJ Bambao (sophomore). Incoming CAS-SEB secretary Ina Capulong, who’s also an incoming IMC junior, belongs to the purple-clad Politeia party.

After an intense four-day election period conducted by the Center for Student Affairs’ Civics Desk,  a high voter turnout of 72 percent decided the winning candidates for the incoming school year’s most visible student leaders in campus. #
