The Corporate Communications Office is happy to announce that UA&P has entered into an agreement with an independent media production company, LeGit Entertainment and Media Co. Inc., which produces the educational television program titled “Campus Challenge”.

The first episode will be aired this Sunday, at 9:00 am on UNTV Channel 37. UNTV is a 24-hour public service channel which can be accessed over UHF Ch 37, Sky and Home Cable Ch 33, Global Destiny Cable Ch 9, Dream Satellite Ch 9 and nationwide via local cable. The show is hosted by MTV VJ/Radio Jock Jonathan Sibulo and NCAA Courtside Reporter Bianca Saldua.

UA&P will participate as a principal sponsor and a presentor in the weekly quiz show which will run for 4 seasons (13 weeks) covering one year of airing. The quiz show is participated in by public and private elementary and high schools in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. It was created and is being produced by the same director and team behind the long-running quiz show “LG Quiz”.

The creative and production team headed by Ms. Patricia “Direk Pat” Perez consults with the Department of Education to insure that the content of the program is aligned with the DepEd curriculum. DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro has endorsed “Campus Challenge” and was pleased about UA&P’s support of this educational TV program.

CCO is working closely with Ms. Perez in the production aspects of the show as well as in networking efforts with schools. Ms. Perez, a veteran TV director, believes UA&P is the first university in the history of Philippine television to give such a substantial support to an educational program.

Winning students in the season championships will win the chance to study in UA&P under the university’s Scholarship Program. Every end of season, 2 elementary students (Grade 5 & 6) and 2 high schools students (Year 3 & 4) will win UA&P scholarships after their school teams battle it out with the best and the brightest in the primary and secondary level categories. After 4 seasons, 16 young boys and girls would have earned the opportunity to study in one of the country’s top universities. The 16 scholarship awards are valued at over ten million pesos. UA&P is happy to blaze a trail for these outstanding Filipino youth. #
