The University of Asia and the Pacific held its first University Scholars Program workshop last August 10 at the Li Seng Giap Auditorium. The workshop was attended by scholars from freshmen to junior year.

Chi-Chi Robles. Managing Director of UA&P CCO at Sabio's first workshop.

According to Ms. Cecilia Resurreccion of the Center for Student Affairs, the series of workshops to be held this year aims for scholars’ integral growth.

For the first workshop with the theme “Gaining Self-confidence and Meaningful Values,” the guest speaker and veteran broadcaster Mrs. Chi-Chi Fajardo-Robles shared the same sentiments with the students, being herself a product of public schools.

During her entire talk, the now managing director of UA&P Corporate Communications Office narrated her life story to the young scholars, relaying her personal struggles with the hardships of life and how she achieved her dream to become a TV personality and educator through the test of poverty. Mrs. Robles also advised students to especially practice the virtues of humility, perseverance and industriousness, which were her saving grace.

The University Scholars Program was organized by the Guidance Office with the collaboration of Sabio. #
