UA&P, through the Office of Alumni Affairs (OAA) and the UA&P Credit Cooperative, will hold a pre-screening of There Be Dragons, a movie about St. Josemaria Escrivá, at the SM Mall of Asia Premier Cinema on October 15, 2011 (Saturday) at 7:00 pm.

There Be Dragons is an epic tale of love, tragedy, forgiveness, and redemption. Directed by Academy Award-nominated director Roland Joffe, it powerfully tells the story of two childhood friends who experience the injustices of the Spanish Civil War. As young men, they choose different paths. one decides to be a vengeful soldier, while the other chooses a life of peace and becomes a priest. The latter is a (rather fictionalized) St. Josemaria Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, to which UA&P spiritual formation is entrusted.

Through this pre-screening, UA&P aims not only to promote the example and teaching of St. Josemaria but also to raise funds to help increase the number of scholarship grantees and to support the UA&P Credit Cooperative.

UA&P students, faculty, staff and their friends may purchase tickets at the booth located at the DCB entrance starting September 21. Ticket prices are Php300 (deluxe) and Php500 (premier).

To provide the audience with a deeper understanding of the movie, the OAA has set up an exhibit of St. Josemaria’s life during the Spanish Civil War at the DCB entrance.

For inquiries, please contact the OAA at local 397 or e-mail alumni [at] uap.asia
