Global business guru to preside CEO forum

World-renowned business expert Prof. Pankaj Ghemawat of IESE Business School will lead a CEO forum at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), December 12 at 9-12 pm.

Prof. Ghemawat was part of the Harvard Business School (HBS) faculty for 25 years before he moved to IESE in Barcelona. He became the Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Global Strategy in 2006.

Prof. Ghemawat was the HBS’ youngest person to attain full professorship and was the youngest guru among the “greatest management thinkers” listed by The Economist in 2008.

Among Prof. Ghemawat’s books are Commitment, Games Businesses Play, Strategy and the Business Landscape, and Redefining Global Strategy. Last May, his latest work, World 3.0, was published by Harvard Business Review Press. It will be launched in the Philippines at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel at 5 pm also on December 12.

Today Prof. Ghemawat helps companies and business schools address international business issues. He has served on the task force appointed by the AACSB, the leading accreditation body for business schools, on the globalization of management education. He also wrote the report’s recommendations about what to teach students about globalization, and how.
