Dragons usher in the Dragon Year

Students from Mandarin classes under the Asia Pacific Studies program and members of the student Filipino-Chinese organization Fu prepared performances for festivities for the Chinese New Year, which is believed to be the start of an auspicious Year of the Water Dragon in Chinese folk culture.

The students carried out the traditional Dragon Dance, bringing to life a serpent-like fabric ornament mounted on poles and bearing the University’s official colors of crimson and red.
