Forty-six senior students of integrated marketing communications at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) flew to Singapore for this year’s Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, September 16-18.

Now an annual activity of the UA&P School of Communication (SCM), sending student-delegates to the premier creative communications event is a way to provide students with “international exposure…to world leaders in advertising and marketing,” said SCM Dean Jerry Kliatchko.

The three-day conference included sessions with top executives of global ad agencies, and culminated with the Spikes Asia Awards. The awards are the region’s oldest and most prestigious recognition for creative communications.

For the UA&P students, part of the event was a visit to the regional office of manufacturing giant Unilever and the ad agency JWT.

UA&P was the only university outside Singapore that sent student-delegates to the annual affair.

Meanwhile, 5th year IMC student Jake Morales attended the Spikes Asia Creative Academy, which gathered the best budding creatives in Asia for an intense three-day program. Read related story here.
