A fourth-year Humanities student has been selected to attend the prestigious Ayala Young Leaders Conference (AYLC) next month.

Salve Regina Capulong is among 81 delegates chosen from more than 800 applicants of the yearly congress of outstanding student leaders in the Philippines.

The AYLC will be held on February 5-8, with activities that include workshops, outdoor events, and talks by prominent leaders from various fields.

Consistently ranked on the top rungs of her batch academics-wise, Capulong has also served as secretary of the College of Arts and Sciences Student Executive Board.

She was part of the team that won the top prize of the Unilab Ideas Positive contest in 2011. The team helped an underprivileged community earn more income through hydroponics gardening.

Capulong also volunteers for CATALYST and BIGGKAS, both of which conduct outreach activities. Last August, she was part of the communications desk of the relief efforts that UA&P organized during the “habagat” floods.

UA&P students have been attending the AYLC for years. Last year, Josemari Lorenzo Valdez (SCM 5th year), Jose Romano Mira (SEC 5th year), and James Caswang (SEC 5th year) were among the chosen few.
