Buzz about a Palanca Award winner and UA&P alumnus made the rounds in the world of social media last Tuesday when he created something the world has never seen before: the first-ever #Twitterserye.

Using a Twitter list entitled “Samahan ng Mga Bitter,” Christian Vallez channeled the drama ensuing among seven people, using the social media platform’s 140-character limit as dialogue – while the whole world freely watched.

It was initially meant to be a mere promotion for the Palanca Award-winning play Kapeng Barako Club: Samahan ng Mga Bitter but as the night progressed, more and more people followed the serial. One of them was TV5’s Interaksyon.com.

The website writes:

“In producing the serial, Juan Ekis, the artist also known as Christian Raymundo Vallez, told InterAksyon.com that he was prompted to produce the teleserye because he wanted to reach a target audience who don’t watch television but are active on social media.”

Christian Vallez is a two-time Palanca Award-winning playwright and is set to stage Kapeng Barako Club in the University this coming week. He is an instructor for the IT department and is the CEO of OVERMIND Corp.
