Served piping-hot with even more energy, LOVE Café is back and this time they’re bringing in something new to spice up the mix.

BEA, in cooperation with Dulaang ROC, ViARE, Pharos, and the Media Management Committee, presents “Love C.A.F.E.: A cycle of four coffee-shop plays on personal relationships,” written by Dr. Joachim Antonio and directed by Jay-ar Mira.

Featuring the most talented students from Dulaang ROC and ViARE, the plays are “Stay Healthy/Cancerous Kang Carrot Ka!,” “Dust in Your Place/Alikabok sa Kusina,” “Newspaper Dance/Bangko ni Noah,” and “Stray Cat/Pusang Gala.” What’s new with this year’s production is that a completely different set of actors has been brought in, breathing in new life to each play. Also, a “transition play” was penned by the director, seamlessly stringing together all four plays.

First staged last year as a pet project of Dr. Joem Antonio, Jay-Ar Mira revived this collection of plays about love as a fundraising event for Dr. Emil Antonio, a former Dean of both the School of Economics and CAS.

Love C.A.F.E. will be staged in CAS 302, 3/F CAS building, and will have its run on September 13, 17, 20, and 24 at 7:30 PM, and on September 14 and 21 at 5:00 PM. Admission is free; however as a fundraiser, any amount will be much appreciated.

For inquiries and reservations, contact Bea Martinez at 09175522326 or Bea Jose at 09175364944. You can also visit lovecafeproject.com or visit their Facebook page to know more about the plays.
