UA&P alumnus Jose Romano Mira recently placed fourth in the “Peter Drucker Challenge 2013,” an international essay and video contest for young managers, entrepreneurs, students and artists/creatives. Organized by the Peter Drucker Society Europe (PDSE), the contest invites participants to “reach beyond the traditional realm of business—to the arts and sciences, just as Peter Drucker did—to help unleash (their) ideas.”
Mira, who graduated from the Industrial Economics Program (IEP) this June, won for his essay entitled “Setting the Stage for the Future: What Managers Can Learn from Theatre Directors.” Himself a theater director, Mira staged Love CAFÉ earlier this September in collaboration with a number of UA&P student organizations. His essay, as well as the full list of winners, may be viewed at the Drucker Challenge website.
Peter Drucker was a writer, professor, management consultant and self-described “social ecologist” who is hailed as “the man who invented management” and directly influenced a huge number of leaders from a wide range of organizations across all sectors of society.
