Two Master of Science in Management (MScM) students from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) secured slots in the top 5 of the recently concluded Student Trainees Program of Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines, earning them the privilege to undergo in-depth operations training in one of the Coca-Cola FEMSA offices in Latin America.

Fifth-year students German Mark Martinez IV and Keren Zyra Pascual bested 30 trainees from other universities in the country after six months of training at the Philippine business unit of Mexican-originated FEMSA. Martinez pitched in a sales incentive program that puts prime in the execution, while Pascual delivered a promo tool for key accounts.

Coca-Cola FEMSA is the largest public bottler of Coca-Cola products in the world in terms of sales volume. It operates in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and the Philippines. Martinez and Pascual are set to fly in the fourth quarter of the year.

The two emerged victorious after a rigid screening that narrowed down the thousand hopefuls to an initial list of 70 students, who presented a personal speech and a group case analysis. Fifty students made it to the next level of assessment, which involves the presentation of a case analysis to a panel of judges. Martinez and Pascual, together with three other classmates in the MScM program, made it to the cut for the six-month internship program.
