Grassroots youth to pull stunts in Season 2 of Mini World Cup

Expect more action in the field as the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) together with The Henry V. Moran Foundation and the Team Socceroo Football Club (TSFC) returns with Season 2 of the Ambassadors Cup, once more bringing the beautiful game of football straight to the heart of the underprivileged children in selected Metro Manila communities.

A collaboration among participating embassies with support from the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), the 2015 Ambassadors’ Cup will launch on November 27 in UA&P at 1:30 pm. Highlights of the event include the signing of the memorandum of agreement among the partner institutions and a mini game in the Under-11 Division. Attending the launch and press conference are representatives of The Henry V. Moran Foundation, TSFC, Inc., PFF, Ambassadors and other embassy officials, and local leaders from partner communities. The event will be led by UA&P President Dr. Jose Maria Mariano.

The Ambassadors’ Cup aims to harness the power of football in uniting persons, communities, and countries. Its first run, which culminated in a tournament on May 10 this year, saw the participation of 11 embassies and over 300 kids, coaches, and parents. Teams South Africa (San Ildefonso Parish), Timor Leste (Brgy. Marikina Heights), Nigeria (GK Barangka), and Argentina (Birhen ng Lujan Parish) formed the top four of the Under-11 division, while the Under-13 winners boasted of Teams Indonesia (GK Tatalon), USA (Western Bicutan Football Club), South Korea (GK Concepcion), and United Kingdom (GK Pinagsama).
