Last December 11, Study Hall B was filled with yuletide cheer as PAREF alumni who are UA&P students, faculty and staff gathered and celebrated Christmas with University President Dr. Josemaria Mariano.

After the audience settled in their seats, Dr. Mariano invited PAREF executive directors Jose Ma. Magalona of Southridge and Emmanuel Sator of Northfield to join him on stage and discuss the long-standing partnership between UA&P and PAREF. They discussed how the two educational institutions continue to work together not only in the field of education but in pursuing holistic excellence.

Anton Campos, a third year student and a PAREF alumnus, reiterated that the students present concluded among themselves that UA&P was a great choice because it molded students into better people in preparation for life after college.

Students also shared what they think the school could do to improve the admission rate. Mac Valdez, the current president of the University Student Government and a Southridge alumnus, said that the school could be more attractive to applicants if they had a sports scholarship. He also reiterated that the availability of only a handful of courses is also a reason why students choose other schools.

Parents for Education Foundation, Inc., or PAREF, believes in the educational philosophy that proper education of the child is rooted in the formation of the parents and the teachers, cialis anchored on the Christian teaching that education is the responsibility of parents. With three and a half decades and thirteen school under their belt, PAREF has come a long way from its humble beginnings.

A short program accompanied the merienda-cena, where various PAREF students performed song numbers. To cap off the night, an impromptu talent contest was held, wherein the PAREF boys emerged as winners.

However, informing the students, faculty and staff of PAREF origin is just the first step. By setting themselves as examples, others will see the unwavering partnership between the two institutions, ensuring the future possibilities of UA&P and PAREF.
