image00The Linguistic Society of the Philippines (LSP) and the College of Arts and Sciences of UA&P  invite everyone to the 2015 LSP National Conference and General Meeting with the theme “Language and Intelligibility” on April 11.

The conference will feature six invited speakers who shall present studies on how intelligibility is achieved in different communication settings and how attempts at being accurately understood shape language in turn. Specifically, the papers will show how the notion of intelligibility acts as a very important impetus for language development, for efforts at simplifying language and combining different theories to understand the way we communicate, and for using different languages or varieties thereof to communicate with one another in different contexts and cultures.
