UA&P holds second get-together for PAREF alumni freshmen
Last July 14, the University of Asia and the Pacific invited all the PAREF alumni in the University to give the freshmen from their respective alma mater a warm welcome, and to show them how the University cares for the PAREF community.
After the students slowly filled Study Hall B, a short prayer was delivered by Mr. Danny Reyes, Managing Director of UA&P’s Corporate Planning and Review office. The newly-installed University President Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog then welcomed the students and guests and expressed his gratitude for the relentless support that PAREF is giving to UA&P.
The different PAREF schools were represented by their administrators: Mr. Raul Nidoy, Director for Personal Formation of PAREF, shared his message on the importance of values formation in the developmental stage of a child, to which Mr. Jose Maria Magalona and Mr. Emmanuel Sator, Executive Directors of Southridge and Northfield respectively, concurrently agreed. Ms. Emilu Visaya, Executive Director of Southcrest, also shared that their school will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this school year, and addresses the alumnae who helped in forming the image of what Southcrest is today.
Also in attendance were Dr. Vicente J. Verallo, School Board Chairman for both Springdale and Southcrest; Raffy Villanueva, a representative from Westbridge; and Ms. Gina Rama, the Executive Director of Rosehill.
During merienda cena, the current UA&P students took turns taking a video encouraging current PAREF students from their alma mater to come visit. To cap off the night, students were invited to come on stage and sing.
This is the second time PAREF alumni in UA&P were gathered; the first was held December last year.
Parents for Education Foundation, Inc., or PAREF, believes in the educational philosophy that proper education of the child is rooted in the formation of the parents and the teachers, anchored on the Christian teaching that education is the responsibility of parents. With three and a half decades and thirteen schools under their belt, PAREF has come a long way from its humble beginnings.
