EM students awarded The Next GKonomist 2016

Entrepreneurial Management students Katrina Abracosa, Caryl Joanne Nonato, Joy Raah Serrano and Juan Paolo Treñas were one of the eleven teams that joined the Be The Next GKonomist (BNG) 2016 Entrepreneurship Camp last April 1 to 3, 2016 at GK Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan.

With the team name “Mapagon”, the group was presented The Next GKonomist 2016 award under the “Haiyan Affected Community” category by creating a panel board made out of rice hulls. They were aided by Ms. Dona Simporios of Pasig Science High School who served as their consultant, and Engineers Evan Ramos and Albert Pareja from the Forest Products Research and Development Institute of the University of the Philippines – Los Baños who helped produce the prototype.

GKonomics brings together social entrepreneurs, skilled volunteers, corporations, and the academe to work with underprivileged communities to create sustainable livelihood and build global Filipino brands that do not leave the poor behind. –
