During its 28th Annual General Assembly, the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities – Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) cited the University of Asia and the Pacific for the following:

1. For being awarded Autonomous Status by CHED in May 2017;
2. For garnering the prize for Second Best Research Paper for the paper entitled “Improving Collaboration in Filipino Company-Sponsored Student I.T. Projects through Agile,” submitted by Mr. Giuseppe Ng and Mr. Romeo Venes of the School of Sciences and Engineering.

With the theme “Connect, Collaborate and Innovate,” the awarding ceremony was held last December 1 at the Hotel Conrad Manila in Pasay City. In attendance were UA&P Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Amado Saquido, Managing Director of the Quality Assurance Office Ms. Humildad Claro, and Dr. Veronica Ramirez of the Center for Research and Communication.

This is the second time that the University took the limelight in PACUCOA’s Best Research category. Last year’s first prize for Best Research was awarded to UA&P for the paper “Migrant Education in Philippine Higher Education Institutions: Drivers, Experience and challenges to Continuous Quality Improvement,” submitted by Dr. Veronica Ramirez.
