Armed with passion and full hearts, the UA&P Firestarters won first place in the 2017 Women’s Colleges Sports Association Cheer Dance Competition last Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Headed by Coach Ajjie Mendelebar and Team Captain Jac Davies, the victory of the UA&P Firestarters displaced the defending champion Miriam College Pep Squad, putting them in first runner-up. MC Pep Squad previously held the crown of the 15th WCSA Cheer Dance Competition. Not far behind was Assumption College San Lorenzo, bagging second runner-up.

Other members of the WCSA who participated in the cheer dance event were St. Scholastica’s College, Enderun, Philippine Women’s University, and San Beda College Alabang.

The UA&P Firestarters are returning champions after winning the competition back in 2015. You can watch the 2015 video shot by UA&P Dragon Angelica Palisoc here. You can also watch courtside, shot by former UA&P Sports Development Desk Head, Rosc Teotico here.

Again, congratulations to the UA&P Firestarters, and may you continue to blaze a trail!
