The UA&P Team Unitas recently placed 1st runner-up in the final round of the IExplore Case Study Competition held last November 17, 2017 in the University of the Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City.  Team Unitas is composed of four 5th year B.S. in Industrial Engineering students namely, Rina S. Rellermo, Ezra Joyce C. Songahid, Alyssa Mae G. Valdez, and Rodney C. Villaruel. Dr. Edwin L. Olmos served as the team adviser.

The annual case study competition is organized by the University of the Philippines Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors (UP CIEM), an academic organization based in the College of Engineering, U.P. Diliman. It is open to all universities, colleges and institutes offering BSIE degree programs nationwide. The competition entails the application of industrial engineering concepts and tools in solving industrial and logistic case problems.

The elimination round required the submission of papers from all participating teams.  All team entries were carefully screened, with the top five teams compete in the final round by means of a 15-minute team presentation and a 10-minute Q & A from a panel of judges. The University of the Philippines-Los Baños team won the championship, while Cebu Technological University team placed 2nd runner up.
