A bibliography of newly acquired books is regularly posted on the library bulletin board and e-mailed to University Deans, Department Chairs, and Library Committee members. Upon request, bibliographies relating to course and independent research are prepared for faculty members. Bibliographies in different subject areas are compiled and updated.
The library has subscription to EBSCO database, Academic Source Premier, and Business Source Premier. These online journals cover all discipline relevant to study and research. SwetsWise online journal titles are those available in the library in print format. The Gale Virtual Reference Library (e-Book) includes 14 titles of reference materials. Online databases are accessible within the university local area network only.
A service by which the table of contents of new journals are reproduced and sent to the different Deans and Department Heads. Requested articles are photocopied and sent to the requesting party.
Books needed by faculty or University officials are delivered to offices or faculty room. The request for materials is limited to five books at a time.
Located at the Don Emilio Ejercito Library, the carrels are for faculty members writing their theses and dissertation.
Guidance in using the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and other sophisticated general reference books are provided by the staff.
For faculty members whose research necessitates the use of materials available only outside of UA&P, inter-library loan service is available through the Reference Librarian. Request for loans, including complete and accurate bibliographic citation should be submitted to the Reference Librarian who will make the arrangement for the loan.
The library has several computer terminals for Internet access located at the Multimedia Section of the Don Emilio Ejercito Library. Internet access is for research purposes only.
Instruction on Library utilization is given during orientation periods.
This soundproof room houses the audio-visual materials and Internet facility of the library. It also has an audio station for listening and a video recorder for transferring video materials in DVD format.
A separate viewing room is provided for students and faculty for viewing films related to their study. The room is located at the Don Emilio Ejercito Library.
Copying machines are available in both libraries.
This service is intended primarily to guide researchers doing independent studies in the choice of books and to assist in data gathering for bibliography making.
Reference and Information Services
Librarians provide guidance to all patrons in the effective use of the library’s resources and facilities. The provide answers to queries requiring intensive searches and direct readers to the proper section of the library for a given inquiry.
Students and faculty members who would like to use the facilities of other libraries may request for a referral letter from the Reference Librarian.
