UA&P Donor Engagement and
Naming Rights Policy

01. Donor Engagement Strategy
How Does UA&P Deal with Donors? The university encourages all stakeholders—particularly those directly involved in donor-funded projects—to take a proactive role in nurturing relationships with donors. This is achieved through:

  • Continuous Personal Dealings: Ensuring donors receive regular updates on the projects they support.

  • Reciprocal Support: Understanding how the university can assist donors in return, such as providing employee training, collaborating on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, or offering personal and family enrichment activities.
     

02. Naming Rights Categories
What are subject to Naming Rights? This section outlines the specific non-physical entities and positions eligible for naming rights:

  • Academic Entities: Faculties, departments, schools, colleges, research centers, and institutes.

  • Academic Positions: Academic chairs, lectureships, fellowships, and research positions.

  • Awards: Any payment or benefit granted to a student or faculty member to recognize excellence, merit, or distinction.
     

03. University Property Definition
Physical Assets Eligible for Naming This section details the specific University Property that falls under naming rights eligibility, which includes:

  • External Building Parts: Wings, halls, forecourts, courtyards, and terraces.

  • Internal Spaces: Lecture theatres, laboratories, libraries, classrooms, lounges, and case rooms.

  • Public Domain Features: Plazas, concert halls, lawns, parking spaces, roads, and bridges.

  • Sports Facilities: Large facilities and playing fields.

  • Other Sites: Any structures recommended specifically by the Fund Development Office.

Endowment Fund Guidelines and Naming Privilege Duration

When is an endowment fund required for a naming privilege?

The grant of naming privileges for academic and non-academic entities, academic positions, and student or faculty scholarships will require the establishment of an endowment.
 

What is the duration of a naming privilege for a University Property?

University property may be named for a fixed period not exceeding 20 years. For extraordinarily big gifts (e.g., covering the total cost of construction and installation of an entire building), the Management Committee (ManCom) may endorse for approval of the Board Executive Committee (Excom) a naming privilege in perpetuity.
 

What donations are only accepted for endowments?

Only cash donations will be considered for the establishment of an endowment.
