Global Town Hall 2026

The School of Politics and Governance of the University of Asia and the Pacific, in collaboration with the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), invites everyone to Global Town Hall 2026, a virtual worldwide marathon discussion, on September 19 (Saturday).

The Global Town Hall is an open, inclusive, and independent platform for civil societies—universities, opinion leaders, social organizations, think tanks, grassroot groups, journalists—from all over the world to discuss issues that matter.

This year’s theme, “Calling for a Global U-Turn: Recentering Development, Reclaiming Humanity, Restoring Justice in a Crazi(er) World,” reflects the people’s growing concern that the international system is drifting away from the principles that have long underpinned global peace and cooperation. The annual Global Town Hall features 10 sessions that run for around 12 hours to accommodate speakers, panelists, and audiences in various time zones—from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, etc.—hence around the world, around the clock, with each of the sessions opened by a video message from a world leader.

The leading convener, the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia, is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit, grassroot foreign policy organization based in Jakarta, Indonesia. FPCI has evolved into a dynamic platform that promotes Indonesian internationalism through policy dialogue, public engagement, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
