SPG hosts lecture on national security, governance

As part of the Politics, Economics, and Society (PES) Forums, the School of Politics and Governance (SPG) invited Philippine Army Reserve Officer Lt. Col. Jannette Chavez-Arceo on April 28 to give a lecture to students of Political Economy and Lex Honors on domestic and global security and defense issues facing the Philippines.


A Communications graduate of the University of the Philippines, Lt. Col. Chavez-Arceo also holds master’s degrees from the National Defense College of the Philippines and the Development Academy of the Philippines. She has served in regional anti-trafficking efforts, contributed to the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, and made history as the first woman to command the 403rd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion in Laguna.
