Undergraduate Programs

  • AB Humanities is a multidisciplinary course that studies the human person as such through the Arts, Literature, History, and Philosophy. The student will use approaches from each of these disciplines to  analyze, interpret, and evaluate human creations. They will integrate these various disciplines in pursuit of wisdom through a deep understanding of the human experience.
     

    Graduates of the AB Humanities program are prepared to take on jobs related to any of the humanistic disciplines. At the same time, they are prepared for further specialization within the career paths of their choice. Intensive training in the complementary use of various methods drawn from different humanistic disciplines in the discipline of their choice leads students to a deeper understanding of the constantly changing socio-cultural landscape. This training and understanding equips the humanities graduate to innovate and develop new ideas that meet the demands of modern-day career opportunities.

    In terms of professions, beyond being a teacher or artist, AB Humanities graduates can become copywriters, corporate consultants, subeditors, lawyers, conservation and heritage officers, and art gallery officers.
     

  • AB Humanities with 18 Units in Creative Writing is a multidisciplinary course that enables the student to use various methods drawn from Arts, History, Literature, and Philosophy to develop a deeper understanding of the constantly changing socio-cultural landscape and apply these methods to Creative Writing. This training equips the humanities graduate to innovate and develop new ideas that meet the demands of modern-day career opportunities, particularly in the literary field.

    Graduates of the Creative Writing Program are prepared to take on jobs related to their field of expertise. The extensive training they have received gives them more channels into landing a creative writing oriented career by the time they leave the university. They can become authors, content writers, editors, journalists, copywriters, social media specialists, columnists, screenwriters, playwrights, scriptwriters, communications directors, public relations professionals, and professors.

  • Health Humanities is a multidisciplinary course that sets the foundation for students who want to pursue  medicine and healthcare. The study of the Natural Sciences, alongside Arts, History, Literature, and Philosophy, grounds the student in a holistic view of the human person possessing dignity, values, and the right to human flourishing and fulfillment. The pandemic demonstrated the indispensability of this mindset and disposition in current  healthcare practice.

    The UA&P Health Humanities Program provides its students with a distinct integral education which develops in them a whole-person perspective, which will be their cutting edge as future professionals in the field of healthcare that is moving toward patient-centered care.

    Students who pursue a Health Humanities major or minor, along with required science courses outside the program, will be exceptionally well-prepared for admission to medical school or to other health science graduate programs. This program is also ideal for students who have an interest in law school, in earning a graduate degree in public health, or in pursuing an administrative career in the healthcare industry. Most Health Humanities programs are in the UK, notably in the University College London and  University of Nottingham. The recognized founder of Health Humanities is Prof. Paul Crawford, who is very active in the International Health Humanities Network.

  • The AB in Asia Pacific Studies (ABAPS) is focused on a humanistic and interdisciplinary approach to community-building, global citizenship, and cross-cultural engagements based on Anthropology, Cultural Studies and Area Studies, or interconnections in the Asia Pacific region.


    This pioneering program is designed to equip students with impact building skills needed in championing global advocacies, campaigns,  action plans, and policy directives by and/or with purpose-driven Third Sector players like International Non-Government Organizations (INGOs), Philanthropies, Foundations, Think-tanks, and Community Interest Companies (CICs) across the region.


    The future graduates of this program will have high autonomy, a variety of skills set, and a deep sense of fulfillment in their career pathways.

  • The Bachelor of Science in Business Economics equips students with a firm foundation on understanding how the economy works and how firms, consumers and industries behave. This foundation enables graduates to use the appropriate tools to facilitate business decision making.

     

    The course fosters a rigorous research culture, analytical and strategic thinking anchored on quantitative rigor.  Cognizant of the need to transmit the result of their analysis and research effectively, the curriculum incorporates courses meant to enhance communication skills. Business economics applies economic frameworks, theories and methodologies to the functional areas of business (i.e., finance, marketing, operations, HR, etc.)

  • Integrated Marketing (I.M.) is a brand management course that develops strategic, analytical, and creative thinkers to become not just marketers, but brand leaders for total business.

    The I.M. program molds students into the best talents in marketing and advertising management by training them to develop a human-centric mindset across a variety of strategic and creative disciplines.

    Students in the Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing program go through a professional residency where they get paid to work with top companies for 10 months as they complete their thesis.

  • The Media and Entertainment Management (M.E.M.) program develops strategic and creative talents to become producers, content creators, and future leaders for the show business industry.

    The M.E.M. curriculum delivers a unique blend of courses taught by a mix of academics and industry leaders, hands-on engagement in real-world projects with media and entertainment companies, international exchange program and study tours, and a program of studies that provide a good balance of the business (science) and creative (art) sides.

  • The BS Psychology program aims to provide students with strong humanistic and research foundations in the essential theories, principles, applications, and methods in the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. The program provides initial training for those interested in teaching, research, and the practice of psychology. It also provides preparation for graduate studies in psychology as well as further studies in other professions such as Medicine, Law, and Business Management.

    Graduates of this program may follow the traditional career paths as licensed psychometricians or work in mental health settings as a program personnel under the supervision of registered psychologists, in HR or research. With further specialized training, graduates of this program may pursue specialization in Psychology (Master’s to PhD) such as clinical, counseling, developmental, educational, social, and industrial or organizational psychology, among others.

  • The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) Program of UA&P provides a solid preparation for a career in early childhood education through grounding in four areas of learning: foundational subjects, psychology, specialization subjects, and research. These four areas of learning are studied from and integrated by a perspective that views the family as the first school and parents as the primary educators of their children. 

    The full program offers a strong liberal arts core curriculum and rigorous courses in early childhood education (the first eight years of childhood). The ECE specialization forms early childhood educators and specialists who can effectively blend theory and practice to create positive learning opportunities and experiences that promote the total development of young children. Students in this program will develop a solid foundation on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) in effective early childhood care and education.

  • The Human Capital Development program of the UA&P School of Education and Human Development is the first of its kind in the country. It aims to produce graduates who can design, conduct, manage, and assess learning and workplace programs that will help individuals and groups in various types of organizations enhance their performance, productivity, and employability.

    An innovative curriculum, Human Capital Development is highly interdisciplinary, drawing and fusing elements from adult education, human resource,  psychology, business management, economics, sociology, and the liberal arts. The program prepares the students for professional work involving Learning and Development and other functions that help enhance the “human capital” of people in various types of organizations and institutions.

    The graduates of the program are being prepared for a professional track that leads to key positions related to organizational performance, learning, change, culture, and people development. With time and experience, they can eventually take on the role of Chief Learning Officer or Chief Cultural Officer, among other possibilities

  • Today’s increasingly complex national and global environment calls for a more integrative mindset, and contemporary social, political, and economic challenges can no longer be approached from a single perspective.

    Our political economy program equips students with the knowledge and analytical skills needed for understanding social realities, examining closely and in depth the multifaceted political and economic factors at the domestic and international levels. Students are trained to employ theories and methodologies from political science, philosophy, economics, history, sociology, and public management which enables them to acquire a holistic approach that facilitates making well-grounded governance decisions and exercising effective leadership.

    Through the years, we have produced excellent graduates who are involved in politics and governance, diplomacy and foreign service, development work and advocacies, business and corporate world, media communications, research, and academe, both in the country and in the international community, making substantial contributions for the good of society.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Public Governance and Leadership (BAPL) addresses the growing need for ethical, effective, and visionary leadership in government, politics, and civil society. As the world faces increasingly complex challenges, ranging from governance crises, economic inequality, corruption, and climate change to political instability, there is an urgent demand for professionals who understand how to govern justly, drive sustainable development, and lead inclusively with genuine concern for the welfare of the people.

    The program, offered as an alternative to typical public administration degrees in other universities, aims to produce leaders not just bureaucrats or functionaries.

    BAPL is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for impactful careers in public service, policymaking, governance, and leadership roles across sectors. The curriculum is strategically crafted to blend theoretical knowledge with practical skills, equipping students to respond to the evolving demands of governance in both local and global contexts.

    Throughout the program, students follow a structured curricular path that begins with foundational courses in political science, public administration, economics, and ethics. These courses lay the groundwork for understanding the political and institutional frameworks of governance, as well as the moral principles guiding leadership and decision-making in the public realm.

    As students progress, they engage with more specialized subjects such as policy analysis, public finance, governance innovations, local and national government systems, and public sector project management. A strong emphasis is placed on research methods, data analysis, and strategic planning—core competencies for addressing complex governance challenges. Leadership development is integrated throughout the curriculum, with courses focusing on organizational leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication.

    To bridge theory with practice, the program includes internships, fieldwork, and case study-based learning, allowing students to gain real-world experience in government agencies, non-governmental organizations, international institutions, or community-based projects.

  • The Entrepreneurial Management (EM) Program of UA&P is the country’s pioneer in establishing a degree program for young entrepreneurs. The program is an intense, holistic, and integrated formation program uniquely designed to breed young entrepreneurs and develop them into mentally sharp, socially adept, emotionally mature, physically fit, and morally grounded individuals. 

    The BSEM Program aims to “Build Value in Business and in Life” by nurturing young individuals to develop and enhance their entrepreneurial talent in a holistic approach. This is underpinned by the mantra “Building Character, Shaping Success,” which is achieved by the BSEM program not only by providing students with business coaching and acquiring skills crucial to business establishment, operation, and decision-making, but also by giving them personal mentoring and increasing their  appreciation of humanistic knowledge from their rich exposure to liberal arts subjects that are the foundation of a UA&P education.

    The Entrepreneurial Management graduates of UA&P are known for becoming Business Owners/CEOs, Social Entrepreneurs, Intrapreneurs, Start-Up Founders, Serial Entrepreneurs, Solopreneurs, Venture Capitalists, Innovators, Game Changers, and Bootstrappers.

    The curriculum exposes the students to the realities of the workplace and at the same time provides them with the rigors of classroom education. Students also have the opportunity to learn through real-world interactions and simulations to further prepare them to be the best in their field.

    The BSA graduates can embark on an exciting career promoting competence and integrity in the following fields: Public Practice (Audit, Tax, Management, Consulting); Commerce and Industry (Finance, Accounting, Internal Audit); Government (Accounting, Revenue, Audit); and Education.

  • The Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting program prepares the graduates to enable management to operationalize its business strategy, founded on professional knowledge, professional skills, and ethical and moral values. Graduates may choose to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) examinations, an internationally recognized certification. 

    Graduates of BSMA can excel in their field as a Management Accountant, Financial Analyst, Cost Accountant, Budget Officer, Finance Manager, Treasurer, or Chief Financial Officer.

  • Data Science is a multidisciplinary field that combines aspects of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and domain expertise to analyze and extract actionable insights from vast amounts of data. It equips students with the necessary skills to derive meaningful conclusions and predictions from complex datasets. This enables informed decision-making that are in great demand by businesses and industries.

    Our degree program emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the context of data analysis. Students learn to formulate research questions, apply appropriate methodologies, and communicate findings effectively. They also gain an understanding of ethical considerations, privacy concerns, and the legal aspects associated with working with sensitive data.

    Furthermore, it equips students with a solid foundation in the liberal arts, theoretical concepts, mathematical models, programming tools, and algorithms.
    Students gain practical experience through hands-on projects and internships, working with real-world datasets, solving business problems, and building predictive models.

  • The BS in Industrial Engineering and Management Program is a four-year program envisioned to produce engineering professionals who can plan, design, and implement sound engineering and technology-based solutions to complex economic, management, and industrial problems.

    The core strength of our BS Industrial Engineering and Management program lies in its ability to address challenges across various business domains, including logistics and supply chain, as well as significant sustainability issues. This is achieved through scientific approaches in data analytics, modeling, decision-making, and management. 

    The BS Industrial Engineering and Management program offers two streams: the Standard Program and the Honors Program, catering to diverse student aspirations and career goals. 

    The Standard Program provides a comprehensive foundation in industrial engineering.  This program is ideal for students who wish to build a strong baseline competence in industrial engineering principles and practices. 

    The Honors Program builds on the Standard Program by adding an advanced level of specialization and training.   Students in the Honors Program undertake additional coursework, including a dedicated semester of on-the-job training. They also specialize in one of three focus areas: Logistics and Supply Chain, Decision Sciences, or Sustainability Analytics, allowing them to gain advanced expertise tailored to their interests and career goals.

    Our IE graduates, whether from the standard or honors program, thrive in diverse and impactful career paths. Specializing in Logistics/Supply Chain, they lead roles in supply chain optimization, operations management, and strategic procurement. In Decision Sciences, they excel as data modelers, operations research analysts, and business intelligence leaders. With Sustainability Analytics, they drive change as sustainability consultants, environmental analysts, and green innovation strategists.

    Beyond these domains, IE’s analytical and systems-thinking foundation opens doors to investment banking, management consulting, and economic forecasting, as well as transformative roles in public policy, business strategy, and even cross-disciplinary fields like medicine or law, where problem-solving and optimization are key.

    *Students enrolling in the BS Industrial Engineering Honors Program will initially follow a common curriculum. After completing their first year, they will have the option to select a specialization. However, the availability of each specialization will depend on the number of students who choose to enroll in it.

  • Developed through extensive consultations with industry leaders, alumni, and academic experts, the Honors Program directly addresses the growing demand for industrial engineers with advanced skills in critical domains. The program aligns with global trends, addressing critical issues such as supply chain resilience, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable business solutions. As industries evolve, the demand for highly skilled industrial engineers continues to grow, making the BSIE Honors Program a timely and strategic offering.

     

    Graduates of the BSIE Honors Program will have access to a wide range of career opportunities. Those specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain can pursue roles in supply chain optimization, operations management, and strategic procurement. The Decision Sciences track prepares students for careers in data science, operations research, and business intelligence. Meanwhile, the Sustainability Analytics specialization equips graduates to become sustainability consultants, environmental analysts, and leaders in green innovation.

  • Civil Engineering (BSCE) is a transformative program that combines rigorous academic training with a hands-on approach, preparing students for a dynamic field. The program forges strong partnerships with top local construction and engineering firms, ensuring students’ engagement in real-world projects and internships. In addition, opportunities to interact with industry experts are available to enhance the university experience that will help BSCE graduates enter seamlessly into the working world.

    UA&P’s commitment to innovation is evident in a curriculum that goes beyond traditional learning, emphasizing a competency-based approach for practical skills needed in the competitive world of engineering. The BSCE program trains graduates to apply knowledge of mathematics, calculus-based physics, chemistry, and other basic sciences to civil engineering areas, with a focus on structural engineering. This is aided with the extensive use of computing resources and know-how to ensure that graduates are up to date. 

    The future of civil engineers lies in the immense push of the country towards its future development through infrastructure. Graduates will have a career in the booming construction industry as designers and construction management. They may also turn to the business aspects of civil engineering, by taking advantage of the valuable insights in the industry.

  • The Information Technology Program goes beyond the traditional confines of computer science by exposing students to an environment oriented to both business and technology. Students develop technical expertise, business management and soft skills, as well as moral and ethical grounding that they need to become IT professionals for the Philippines, Asia, and the rest of the world.

    Our graduates build careers as systems analysts, software engineers, solutions architects, and project managers. Some become database, systems, and network administrators. For the more business-inclined students, there are careers in technical sales, marketing management, and business development. Majority of our graduates work for companies in the software, business-process outsourcing, manufacturing, and telecommunication industries, while a number of them have set up their own high-technology outfits.

  • Legal Management (BSLM) Program integrates law, economics, and management to prepare students for the legal and regulatory realities in today’s corporate and political environment.

     

    Grounded in the humanities and the interplay of Philippine law and international law, the curriculum develops a strong analytical legal insight with managerial competence for effective leadership in contemporary business and society. Leadership that gets it done.

     

    Also an excellent pre-law foundation for aspiring lawyers.

  • The 6-Year Integrated University Program (6YP) is a seamless and integrated program with three distinct phases: the first two years are Senior High School (or Junior College), the next three years are the Bachelor’s program, and the final year if the student qualifies, is the Master’s program.

    The following degrees may be taken up under the 6YP:

    • MA in Media and Entertainment Management 


    • MA in Political Economy with specialization in International Relations and Development
