UA&P launches Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence

Building on its longstanding commitment to forming the next generation of leaders, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) is launching its new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (BSAI). Beginning this school year, the program, through UA&P's School of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, will equip students with the technical, analytical, and ethical foundations needed to thrive in an AI-driven world.

In 2026, the global technology landscape transitioned from a search-based economy to one dominated by generative and agentic AI systems, moving beyond prompt engineering toward the creation of sophisticated AI applications and the deployment of autonomous AI agents. There is a critical need for Applied AI Engineers who will develop autonomous, reasoning systems that seamlessly integrate into business operations and workflows.

To address the urgent global deficit of “AI architects”, BSAI will provide students with hands-on expertise in AI solutions deployment to meet the immediate needs of both domestic enterprises—including major conglomerates and fintech leaders—and international Fortune 500 Global Capability Centers operating within the Philippines.

According to the School of Sciences, Engineering and Technology:

“BSAI graduates will emerge as skilled AI architects who give importance to the ethical and social consequences of their work. Through close collaboration with industry leaders our graduates will gain the professional integrity and real-world responsiveness needed to navigate and lead through global economic shifts. BSAI graduates will be businessmen who want to build ‘AI products' . They will end up not just as coders, but as AI Architects capable of deploying resilient systems on local infrastructure or the cloud.”
